The writer Heinrich Böll was often a guest of his cousin, the architect, at the Hotel Böll. Together with the photographer Karl-Heinz Chargesheimer they developed here the book 'In the Ruhr district', which documents the Ruhr district of the 1950s in unparalleled fashion, with text and pictures. The hotel has easy access to the A 42 motorway, which leads to all other important motorways.
